Job Description

Experienced Server / Bartender

Montaluce Winery & Restaurant | Le Vigne
Dahlonega, GA
Full-Time / Part-Time | Evenings, Weekends & Holidays

About the Position

Le Vigne at Montaluce Winery & Restaurant is seeking experienced Servers/Bartenders to join our front-of-house team.

This position is designed for an experienced hospitality professional who is equally comfortable providing polished tableside service and working behind a craft cocktail and wine focused service. We are looking for someone who understands that great service is more than taking an order. It is anticipating needs, knowing the menu, making confident recommendations, communicating with the kitchen and support team, maintaining excellent timing, and creating an experience guests remember.

Our ideal candidate is professional, dependable, confident, coachable, sales-minded, and genuinely enjoys hospitality. This is not an entry level serving or bartending position . Previous experience in a high-volume, upscale, fine-dining, winery, craft cocktail, or comparable restaurant environment is strongly preferred.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide attentive, polished and personable service from greeting through final payment.

  • Greet tables promptly and take ownership of the guest experience throughout service.

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, spirits, beer and non-alcoholic offerings.

  • Make thoughtful recommendations and comfortably guide guests through menu and beverage selections.

  • Accurately enter orders and communicate modifications, allergies and dietary restrictions to the appropriate team members.

  • Follow established allergy procedures and treat food-allergy communication with the seriousness it requires.

  • Prepare and serve cocktails according to established recipes, specifications and presentation standards.

  • Properly pour and serve wine, sparkling wine, spirits and other beverages.

  • Demonstrate responsible alcohol service and recognize when alcohol service should be slowed or discontinued.

  • Maintain accurate guest checks, payment processing and cash-handling procedures.

  • Provide appropriate checkbacks and monitor pacing between courses.

  • Work closely with hosts, food runners, bussers, bartenders, expo, culinary staff and management.

  • Run food, clear tables, reset tables and assist teammates without waiting to be asked when service requires it.

  • Maintain a clean, organized and fully stocked bar and service area throughout the shift.

  • Complete opening, closing and side-work responsibilities thoroughly.

  • Properly handle glassware, wine, liquor and restaurant equipment.

  • Assist with large parties, preorders, special occasions and event-related restaurant service.

  • Respect assigned sections and seating rotation while maintaining a team-first approach.

  • Communicate guest concerns to leadership promptly rather than allowing an issue to escape.

  • Protect the guest experience while maintaining restaurant policies and service standards.

  • Participate in ongoing food, wine, cocktail, allergy and service training.

What We’re Looking For

Experience matters for this position. Strong candidates will typically have:

  • At least 2 years of serving and/or bartending experience , preferably in an upscale or high-volume environment.

  • Demonstrated bartending experience and a working knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails.

  • Working knowledge of wine and the ability to discuss varietals, styles, pairings and basic wine service confidently.

  • Strong menu knowledge and the ability to learn new food and beverage information quickly.

  • Excellent communication skills and professional guest interaction.

  • Strong situational awareness and the ability to prioritize multiple tables, bar guests and service responsibilities simultaneously.

  • Confidence making recommendations and increasing sales without creating a pushy or transactional guest experience.

  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.

  • Reliable transportation.

  • Ability to remain composed and professional during high-volume service.

  • Ability to accept coaching and implement feedback.

  • A strong sense of accountability and attention to detail.

  • Willingness to help outside of an assigned section when necessary.

  • Availability for mornings , evenings, weekends and holidays , which are essential business periods for our restaurant.

  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods and safely carry trays, glassware, cases and restaurant supplies.

  • Ability to meet all applicable requirements for responsible alcohol service.

ServSafe Alcohol, food safety, allergen‑awareness training, wine education, sommelier coursework or comparable hospitality certifications are a plus.

The Person We Want

We are especially interested in hospitality professionals who understand the difference between simply completing tasks and taking ownership of a dining experience .

You should notice the empty glass before the guest asks. You should know where your food is. You should be able to explain a dish instead of simply reading its ingredients. You should be comfortable recommending a bottle of wine, building a cocktail correctly, communicating an allergy accurately, and asking for help before a situation becomes a problem.

We value people who are dependable, mature, honest, composed and collaborative . Strong individual sales are important, but they cannot come at the expense of teamwork. We expect our servers and bartenders to support one another, communicate respectfully with the culinary team and contribute to the success of the entire restaurant.

Scheduling

Restaurant hospitality requires availability when our guests are here. Friday evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays are important operating periods , and applicants should have meaningful availability during these times.

Scheduling is based on business needs, availability, demonstrated performance and the needs of the overall team.

Compensation

Competitive tipped compensation

Specific hourly wage, tip structure and/or bartender compensation will be discussed during the interview process based on the position and experience.

Benefits & Perks

Benefits and eligibility may vary by employment status and should be discussed during the hiring process.

Employees also have the opportunity to expand their knowledge of:

Wine and wine service, craft cocktails and spirits, upscale dining service, food and beverage pairings, large-party service, winery hospitality, guest recovery and restaurant operations.

Equal Opportunity Employment

Montaluce Winery & Restaurant is an equal opportunity employer. Employment decisions are made based on qualifications, merit, performance and business needs without unlawful discrimination based on any status protected by applicable federal, state or local law.

  • Employee discount
