This role will be supporting our Petrone Practice Group in NYC Metro.

The Role

The Diagnostic Medical Physicist will support imaging centers and hospital departments (radiology, radiation oncology, cardiology, OR, etc.) by performing evaluations of a wide variety of imaging systems in all modalities to ensure compliance with state regulations, accreditation requirements, and relevant practice standards. The physicist will also evaluate and characterize image quality to ensure imaging equipment is operating at optimal performance levels, and provide consultation to clients regarding facility design, shielding requirements, assessment of supplemental shielding, patient and occupational radiation exposure, etc. This role is an exempt position.

What You’ll Do

\n
• Medical Physics QC Services of modalities including but not limited to diagnostic imaging and nuclear medicine departments.
\n
• Radiation Protection surveys
\n
• Radiation protection shielding evaluations.
\n
• Residency faculty member (including but not limited to track mentor, steering committee member, recruitment team member)
\n
• Participate in radiation safety and QC meetings.
\n
• Perform regulatory QC mock inspections for diagnostic and mammography departments.
\n
• Create and deliver training sessions to meet regulatory and academic requirements.
\n
• All duties typically associated with and expected of multi-modality experienced consulting Diagnostic Medical Physicist.
\n
• Perform additional duties, as needed.
\n

Operational Responsibilities:

\n
• QC report peer review
\n
• Ensure QC activities with the region are performed in a timely manner when due.
\n
• Proactively work within the team to ensure all regularly scheduled, episodic and emergency evaluations/activities are covered for our clients.
\n
• Always maintain a client-centric approach on delivery of service. Maintain the highest metric of client satisfaction evidenced by feedback, surveys, etc.
\n

What You’ll Need

\n
• A board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Medical Physics, or board eligibility as demonstrated by graduation from a CAMPEP accredited residency in diagnostic physics.
\n
• 3+ years Clinical experience in diagnostic imaging that includes general radiation safety, development and review of Operating, Safety, and Emergency Procedures, and knowledge of clinical protocols.
\n
• Technical experience and understanding of state regulations, and ACR and TJC criteria, process, and compliance. Familiarity with applicable regulatory guides, and regulations.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• A willingness to go “above and beyond” for clients and fellow colleagues.

• Demonstrate initiative, organization, and ownership of daily tasks and projects.
\n
• Ability to problem solve by seeking, developing, and implementing viable solutions.
